With positive impact of education and strong efforts of the governments and trade organizations of different countries, the future of spam appears in dark waters.

Anybody who browses the Internet must be well aware of a spam - it is the reason behind the prevailing chaos in the world of Internet mailing, just like junk mail is a trouble for postal service departments. Spam has become the most happening term in the web world. All the security companies and researchers are working hard to find out ways to get rid of this ever-increasing giant.

But before getting into the details of how to eliminate this curse from computers, we need to understand what actually a spam is. Spam is actually an unsolicited e-mail that usually contains undesirable promotions and is sent with the intention to spin money through automatic programs to masses. These spams arrive at millions of e-mail users mostly offering products and services comprising prescription medication, porn, ‘get rich’ plans, and fake news of a particular company’s shares.

Spam or junk e-mail is a rising trouble for Internet users. As per expert researches, worldwide, the cost of spam varies from millions to billions of dollars. However, at present, spam might not appear plentiful as ever, since the spammers are getting distracted which is reflected in their recent step to utilize home computers as spam zombies (zombies sent e-mail spam to several users remotely).

Nobody can predict the fate of spam and that of Internet in near future. Though countries and organizations are trying to set a deadline to overcome the problem of spam, it cannot be perceived that it would disappear. The quantity of spam received by the users has not yet declined considerably but with the growing Internet education and awareness, it will certainly decline as people have started deleting spam rather than answering to it.

Hopes to overcome this problem are still alive as the battle is being fought on several fronts. Companies and trade associations, along with technology and legislation, are joining forces and working in synergy to combat spam. The home users are also protecting their PCs through firewalls, spam filters, and anti-virus software while companies are imposing Internet policies blocking employees to send jokes or any other mail/content during official hours.

The governments of various countries are also adopting stringent measures to manage spam. The US has military Cyber Warfare teams to check threat from hackers working for foreign governments. A collaborative effort between the UK, the US, and the EU can stop data sharing to certain countries under some sort of E-embargo that would bring any offending spam-supporting country to its knees in a short span of time.

The future of spam appears to be gloomy. Public anger and the decline in Internet resources and bandwidth have initiated a widespread wave of fury among individual users and business giants globally. And the message is very much apparent – spam will have to leave.
