Internet marketing is not as easy as it seems. I would say that setting up a successful online business is harder than a real world business. However, if you know what you are doing, then it is possible to make a lot of money doing it. The problem is that a lot of people make a lot of mistakes whenever they are doing Internet marketing. A lot of people think that all they need for their website is a lot of hits (or traffic) and the sales are going to take care of the rest.

However, that is not the case. You can have all the traffic in the world coming to your web site, however, if it is not highly targeted niche traffic, then it is not going to do you any good. Getting targeted traffic is vital to the success of your online business. Now we are going to talk about some different types of Internet marketing that may be driving hits to your site, but not offering you any sales.

First of all, you need to stay away from the Paid to Click sites. These are different from the Pay Per Click sites. You can see how people can get those mixed up. On the paid to click sites, people get paid to click on your site, whether they are interested in your products or not. So that is going to drive up your hits, but you are not going to be selling anything. On the Pay Per Click sites, you are bidding on keywords related to whatever you are selling. The people who are clicking on your site are not paid to click, so they are more likely to be interested in the product that you are trying to sell.

Another thing that you have to look out for is littering your website with keywords. By just putting random keywords in your site, not only is that going to hurt your ranking on the search engines, but it is going to bring hits to your site that have nothing to do with your website content. In other words, keywords are good, but they have to be used tastefully. Do not just stick random keywords on your site to get hits, because you will get hits, but you will not be getting quality hits. That is what really counts. The key is to target highly relevant keywords closely related to your niche. Focusing on quality over quantity is the key thing to remember while searching keywords for your business.

In the end, the only thing that really matters is your Roi (Return on investment) Remember, hits are not what you need to be worried about. In order to survive you need sales and the only way to get sales is by targeting the right audience for your product or service. You need to be worried about quality hits that bring you these sales. A quality hit is the traffic to your website that has people who are actually interested in what you are selling.
